Words by Josie, aiming for the mythical work-life balance: Things don't always slip from good to bad, more often they just change. I was born against a bluescreen, my parents' names were CSO and chromakey; if you press the right buttons my background disappears. Let's have a motion-capture marriage; a simulated wedding ceremony, so each of our families can see precisely what they want to. Promise that you'll datamosh my deathbed, watch my pixels glitch as you cremate me; even though this body's dust, an image will remain. The girl is offended; confused by your descriptor, retreats to her library. She's sure she's not a hipster, but a nerd (or a geek). It's the third time this week that someone has told her to be a bigger person; she's nearly two metres tall. Acknowledge her aversion to the herd, let her speak and be heard. Not a meek little bird, she's unique: both the word and the freak. How to apologise: (1) I'm sorry for... (2) This is wrong because... (3) In the future... (4) Will you forgive me? [Repeat, with qualification] Be sincere, make eye contact. Be specific. Try to understand. Use positive language. Don't expect a yes.
